Acem Meditation has helped alleviate my chronic pain while opening my eyes to an inner world I had been ignoring. In the years since I learned Acem Meditation, I have discovered much and accepted much about myself, in my daily practice and in discussions with other Acem meditators in guidance groups, online retreats, and classes.

A friend suggested I try learning Acem Meditation as a way to alleviate chronic pain. Having practiced yoga for 20 years I'd dabbled in meditation but found it confusing and complicated and hadn't seen it as something with a practical everyday utility.

I took the Acem beginner's course in 2019 and was pleasantly surprised by its simplicity. As part of my yoga practice, I'd enjoyed reading ancient texts about meditation and attending lectures by experienced meditators, but I'd been overwhelmed by the idea of meditation as they presented it.

With Acem Meditation, all I had to do was sit quietly and repeat a sound. I was also surprised by what happened when I sat quietly and repeated the sound.

I look forward to someday attending an in-person retreat and Acem's interpersonal communication workshops.
